Namdar Afroz Company (May 2012 - March 2014)
Namdar Afroz is an engineering and manufacturing company since 1995 in the fields of high voltage transmission line fittings, Substation Clamps & XLPE cable Fittings. The company main outcome was from participation in tenders of national and Iran’s Ministry of Energy, and also suppling partial orders of indoor and foreign market.
I started working as a mechanical design engineer in the technical and engineering section which mainly had duty to review material requisitions and presenting a technical proposal to the commercial unit. In technical team we calculating the force of the chain of fittings, positioning the fittings in the chain, reviewing how the fittings are connected, and designing new fittings if needed. Following related codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, IEC, ISO, …), design and modeling CAD/CAE software (CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, ANSYS, …) were used for making new products. In addition, some of the equipment are used to preventing vibrations caused by wind and frost on overhead power transmission line. This equipment was designed based on data such as the length of the line span, the types and number of cables used, and the geographical conditions of the installation site, including maximum and average wind speed and frost condition. Stockbridge damper and Torsional Damper and Detuner are solution for so called conditions.
The company goods were reached to Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Azerbaijan and made a million-dollar annual turnover in 2012. As One of company’s commercial targets, exporting to South Africa was became main goal of strategical missions. To do so, first it shall include in South Africa’s power ministry AVL which needed a technical package of test and certifications beside company’s verification and qualification. I was participated and then managed in a team for completing all requirements and necessities which were mainly testing and reporting results of products in reference laboratories with ISO 17025 certification. We sent our package in October 2012 and the confirmation were sent in next year.
I had small experience on commercial including negotiating and dealing with Chinese and Pakistani sub-contractor for delivering some products for NTDC project which is Pakistan energy ministry. I was then coordinator of that project and hosting Pakistani inspectors.
Also, using the knowledge gained from the internal ISO/TS audit course and in order to standardize the production process, I prepared an operation process chart (OPC) for each part, which was eventually completed for all main parts and was added to the company's production chart collection as a document in the form of the ISO 9001 standard.
During my activity I gained ability to establishing Shop & As-Built drawings by modeling, making samples of mostly ferrous materials, selecting proper grade from steel key, participating in test process as a purchaser and supervising in quantity surveyor, making foreign AVL packages and adjusting ISO requirement on an operation process.

NRP-co (March 2014 - March 2015)
The company was founded in 1998 with the aim of carrying out research projects in the fields of hardware, software and electronics. The company has various projects such as ITS or Intelligent Transportation Systems, Mechatronics, Medical and Industrial Engineering.
In 2014, I joined the company as a mechanical design engineer. The company's main project at that time was the production of 6 electrical valve actuators ordered by IOTC (International Oil Terminal Company) which are based on the Rotork company's IQ35 valve actuator design. The engineering phase was started shortly before I joined the designing team. In brief time we finished designing following codes and standards then we started modeling and simulating parts efficiency with CAD and CAE software and publishing 3D parts plots and drawings. We successfully managed to cast, machine and cladding main body parts within the time of project milestone. At the same time, we completed basic phase of both mechanical and electronics of actuator’s gearbox and rest inner parts. We headed to detail phase of project after fulfilling client’s recommendations and starting to finalizing production drawing of actuator’s parts. Within a 6 month we’d made contracts with Listed producers for manufacturing and delivering project equipment. We’d achieved the first assembled valve actuator within a year and before testing begins.
Also, there were other projects in company that I was participated as a mechanical designer & Technical Specialist Engineer. The company's main activity was in the field of ITS which focusing on car license reading system that can detect vehicle’s speed and automatically sending report to police. I was modeling and consulting on making and assembling of specialized camera towers, traffic enforcement camera pole and commissioning system in Kashan-Esfahan highway. The further success of that project was led into preinstallation project of 28 fixed road speedometers.
In short time the successful design and manufacturing of the Valve Actuator was result in involvement in some other design adaptation projects. I had participated in detail phase of engineering design and help to publishing shop drawing of fuel indicator and altimeter of training aircraft ordered by ISA. It was an engineering project based on codes and standard with high quality and performance demand. We successfully prepared a prototype and a sample for type tests.
I got experience designing and assembling a stack blood scanner, which was a XYZ-table with high accuracy movement and it demands high quality design of base plates. The included an automatic blood smear device and a scanner which can scan 200 sample in a short time with high quality. We managed to build a reliable setting for the system ball screws which were mount on base plates and could move smoothly without vibration.
Other project that led to manufacturing 2.5 U power unit which mainly require the knowledge of bending metal plates to produce adequate case for electrical devices. The power unit can be use in computing unit rack and consist of two trans formator, transducers, electrical board, fans and a monitor. The case drawings with unbent plot were the final output of engineering phase which finally became proper box for electrical devices.
And my last participation in designing phase was an automatic sorting system which can be used in airport or post office. I had modeled shape and performance of system that can handle 4 exits.
I had experienced to modeling, prototyping, materials selecting & preparing shop & As-Built drawings and Material Requisition (MR) including MTO and Datasheet if needed, Quantity & Quality surveyor and AVL selecting contractor.

Negahban-co (April 2016 – October 2017)
Negahban Fire & Safety Co. (est. 1981) is Iran’s first manufacturer and supplier of industrial firefighting equipment for the oil, gas, petrochemical, and power industries. Alongside domestic production, Negahban collaborates with international firms to provide a wide range of firefighting solutions. As a pioneer in the field, Negahban’s products are widely used across Iran’s industrial sectors. The company also have been certified as first Iranian company to receive NFPA Technical Approval Certification with voting rights (1987), ISO 9001:2008 from UKAS (Switzerland), HSE-MS (OGP) from ICS Group (Canada), CE Marking (European Union), UL (USA) (UL260, UL246 & UL789) and first Iranian company to install and commission Water-Driven Foam Proportioning Systems.
I had started in company while some big projects were initialized and ready to developed. One of the main systems that must be delivered within 6 months was fixed and semi fixed foam package. The bid was extremely crucial because it was the first corrosion resistance system that certified for installing in south pars gas field. The bidder of project was O1 (OIEC) and the first revision of engineering document were just issued. I had worked on some main documents till taking approval of purchaser such as P&ID, Equipment Drawings & Datasheets, Foam Concentrate Storage Tank Assembly, Test Procedure Including NDT, Hydrotest & NDT Map, Installation, Operation & Maintenance Manual, WPS & PQR and Performance Test Procedure. Due to limited time and by confirming the client the specific materials such as copper-nickel alloys pipes and fitting were purchased from a listed South Korean vendor and the deluge system were procuring from a foreign supplier. The manufacturing of skids and structure was established step by step with the approval of engineering document and finalized after the last revision had approved. The process of assembling and testing the system had been settled after 4 months of production timeline started. We successfully tested and delivered both sixed and semi fixed foam package a month before deadline which should be tested before commissioning at site.
Among the company's products are the following: Automatic Foam Systems, Fixed Foam Packages, Deluge Skids & Systems, Storage Tank Foam Makers, RimSeal Foam Pourer, Foam Chamber & High Back Pressure, Dry & Wet Fire Hydrants, Water & Foam Monitors, Manual, Oscillating, Remote & Automatic, Water & Foam Spray Nozzles & Sprinklers, Fire Suppression & Tank Cooling Systems, Coupling Fittings, Post Indicator & Post Plate Valves.
The company were also working on some other packages which I was involved; delivering its equipment to other clients such as Boali Petrochemical, Danial Petro Company., Ghadir Petrochemical, Hirbod Niroo & Hirbodan, Industrial Plan Management of Iran (IPMI), Isfahan Chemical Industries, Jondishapour Petrochemical, Mapan Shirvan Petrochemical, Mapna Mahshahr Petrochemical, Nargan Company., Nardis Company., NIOC, ODCC, Mobin Petrochemical, Rampco, Shazand Petrochemical, Tarh O Palayesh Engineering Company and Zarand Iranian Steel Company.
The project document coordination was beside my main duty which was led into preparation FDB (Final Data Book) of each project. In related project after finalizing VPIS (Vendor Procurement Index Schedule) some main document should be packaged as Final Data Book by vendor and send it to client to release some financial contract terms. I had finalizing 8 FDB during my persistence and successfully close related contracts.
I gained ability to prepare piping documents of firefighting systems in petrochemical plant like PFD, P&ID, 3D isometric drawing, setting firefighting equipment Datasheet & MTO in detail phase and packaging vendor documentations & Final Data Book.

Sharpey-co (December 2017- December 2019)

I’d joined the company at 2017 for the control project position in a constructional project of 192-unit residential complex in Pardisan city near Qom. The Momtazin Complex project started in a month with duration of 18 month. The crucial part of this position was to expedite the project process by sending report without any delay in daily, weekly and monthly format, controlling project time-based schedule and alerting any deviation of it, giving time based replan in the case of major deviation in planed time and also documenting and checking project resource allowance. Because of high inflation in material market the project should meets its planned deadline otherwise the company couldn’t get any profit of it. We’d successfully managed to finish the project with a month after its deadline.
Based on my academic knowledge I also consulting in Mechanical Installation plot of plant like the coordination and dimension of piping duct, piping supports, air condition systems and least requirement equipment quality and quantity based on national building engineering codes and standard. I still didn’t authorize for any formal supervision position but it was great experience for me to get into this field.
Meanwhile I got ability to establishing WBS, time schedule and project control replanning based on time and resource all according to PMBOK recommendations. ​​​​​​​
CADAfzar-co (January 2019- December 2020)
As an engineer I’ve always dealing with software in my field and beyond that. In addition, I have great excitement to learn useful and essential software during studying and working. Some of the most important skills is ability to 3-Dimensional modeling and plotting final drawings which any engineering software are developed its product for better visualization and accessibility for their users. I’ve constantly improving my capacity and reached to the point that do explicit projects with various tools. Because of that I have started a partnership with CadAfzar-co. which was first a start-up then become a platform for teaching engineering software. I was sharing my software teaching contents and progressively collaborating software users and company engineering sections, solving software challenges in their project.

Sina Cable-co (January 2020 – October 2022)
Sina Cable Company started its activity in 1992 in the field of manufacturing various types of wires and cables. As development of its scope of activity, the company has constructed manufacturing ancillary facilities of an area of 45000 m2 and has installed required machinery, launched its production lines of medium and high voltage cables of up to 400 KV in any types of power, control and instrumentation in comply with international standards of IEC, BS, JIS, VDE, ASTM and granted various certificates from the Dutch KEMA company as well as IS0 14001:2004, ISO 9001:2008, and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards Since 2012.
I had joined company as a Technical & Sales expert for handling its major projects with various types of productions and great financial order. I had worked directly under the supervision of CEO and report last status of projects such as contract terms, production updates, timing and recourses, required documents and commercial notes and other related issues in projects such as West Karoun natural gas liquid (NGL 3200) plant, Bushehr Petrochemical, Damavand Petrochemical, Gachsaran Petrochemical, Siraf Petrochemical, Azar Oil Field, Darezar Copper Mine, Beheshti & Tombak service and export port, KSS Co. Iron Ore Concentrate Plant and Jalal Abad Hematite Iron Ore Processing Plant.
I had Expedited projects while excelling arranging technical specification and issuing vendor documentation, setting meeting with clients before and after contracts, establishing commercial offer in Rials & US/Euro currency considering profit margin calculation, arranging contract terms in terms of delivering conditions (Incoterms), payment stages, special circumstances and closing conditions.
I’d made try to participating regional tender system (setadiran.ir , tender.mop.ir & other oil/gas field petrochemical/refinery company), drafting POs & project financial plan, claim management, vendor documentations transmitting & packaging Final Data Book and holding KOM and tests/project milestones meeting.
Beside the company was using a software to design and calculating material consumption called Cablebuilder which can be link to the production line programming and reporting any time duration process of manufacturing of any type of cable. But as it limited for one user the designing and reporting configuration cannot be accessible simultaneously. Also company project increasing rapidly that urging the sale section to be agile and nimble for preparing Technical and Commercial offers which led me to write a VB-based program in Microsoft Excell to design and report material consumption for each product. It is a very useful and handy tool for making a rough estimation of any cable type layer weight and giving a good recommendation to price a whole cable with any profit margin. We had use it to set any commercial offer within an hour or less.
I also managed to write another VB for calculating cable drums consumption and optimizing usage of total drum in a single project. Cable drums are part of packaging process in any cable manufacturer and deliver to project site with no further expense for purchaser. It is very important for any cable producer to minimize the usage of cable drums regarding cable cutting list or cable drum schedule. So far I’d wrote program and tested it in projects then by helping other factory sections specially the warehouse we successfully optimize usage of drums according to cable cutting list and available drums.

I was started working in TAVANA as a mechanical and piping engineer.
I have experienced various course for more than 6 months to be prepare and inform of Bushehr Nuclear power plant certified engineer which was including BNPP working process, functional systems, details of equipment and related engineering fields that required mechanical and piping knowledge for handling company’s projects.
Afterward I have joined in teams consist of different engineering disciplines for developing and completing some important and sometimes crucial tasks of project. First because of the last experience in cable design and manufacturing I have got into the Enhancing quality (EQ) program for electrical equipment. The main goal of this program is to elevating quality of equipment by defining the exact situation of its function and estimating time of services more effective and increasing life time sufficiently. The first task is to define real time condition by considering surrounding factor like temperature, humidity and more importantly radioactivity decay of materials. So, at first step determining crucial zone of BNPP by means of so-called surrounding factors and monitoring changes in its operational time have to be prepared then by selecting each equipment characteristic in accordance with its material and function we should devise effective plan as EQ program to enhance equipment safety and efficiency. Our project was finally gathered in a report which explaining the most crucial rooms in BNPP reactor and defining all control and instrumental cable through pass in those rooms and also categorizing them by their function in regard of its level of risk for safety of the plant. ​​​​​​​
